Citations Made Easy

Ottobib is a site that allows you to simply type in the ISBN number of a book, select the citation method (MLA, APA, AMA, Chicago/Turabian), and it returns the citation you need.

As the site banner says:
1. Submit isbn(s)
2. there is no step 2

Go here to use it:

i'd never heard about this before...i'm so gonna use it... but it does have a few glitches which are easier to fix than to type the whole damn thing out.

thanks!

I use this one too. But the ISBN thing sounds really neat. I'll have to try it out for my next paper!

i went to a workshop at mills library today and learned about "write-n-cite" and "refworks" which work with MORRIS and put together citations and a bibliography for you based on journal articles and books you view in MORRIS.

refworks is great...and if you are doing huge literature searches, you can save databases of all your journal citations and just import the needed ones into word when we are ready to write your paper. Other programs like endnote and reference manager will also do this but refworks is free and downloadable from the library website.

RefWorks does indeed rock! The library has some upcoming drop-in workshops to learn more about it, more details here.

(shameless plug alert: i'm a librarian at Mills!)
